Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the iHandball Platform (the “Platform”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Platform. iHandball LLC (“iHandball”, “we”, “us”) reserves the right to update these Terms; material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notification at least 14 days before they take effect, and your continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use the Platform. We verify this with a date-of-birth check at registration, and we do not offer accounts to anyone under 16. By creating an account you represent that the date of birth you provide is truthful; we may suspend or terminate any account we reasonably believe belongs to a person under 16, and we will delete its personal data as described in our Privacy Policy. The Platform is intended for handball players, coaches, club administrators, and authorized representatives of those parties. By creating an account you represent that the information you provide is accurate and that you have the right to publish it.

3. User Roles and Accounts

The Platform supports three primary roles, each with a distinct profile schema and feature set:

3.1 Players

Player accounts represent individual athletes. Players may publish a profile, upload highlight video, build a career timeline, follow and message other users, save profiles to a watchlist, and apply to recruitment posts.

3.2 Coaches

Coach accounts represent individual coaching staff. Coaches may publish a profile (specialization, license, focus, past clubs), follow and message other users, and apply to recruitment posts.

3.3 Clubs

Club accounts represent handball organizations. Clubs may publish a profile, post recruitment opportunities for players or coaches, and contact players and coaches directly. Each club account must be operated by an authorized representative of the club.

You may hold only one primary role per account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Platform to:

• harass, threaten, defame, or abuse other users;
• impersonate any person, club, or organization, or misrepresent your role;
• post spam, unsolicited commercial messages, or content unrelated to handball recruiting;
• post false, misleading, defamatory, or unlawful information;
• scrape, harvest, or extract data from the Platform by automated means;
• circumvent rate limits, access controls, or other security mechanisms;
• upload viruses, exploit code, or other malicious payloads;
• infringe any third party's copyright, trademark, publicity, or other rights;
• use the Platform to facilitate human trafficking, child exploitation, or any activity prohibited by law.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section.

5. User Content

You retain ownership of the content you post (profile text, bio, video URLs, images, messages). By posting content to the Platform, you grant iHandball a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, distribute, reformat, and promote that content within the Platform and in marketing materials about the Platform, with attribution where reasonably feasible. You represent that you own or have all rights necessary to grant this license, that the content does not violate any third party's rights, and that the content is accurate.

6. Recruiting Disclaimer

iHandball is a communications platform. We are not an employer, agent, broker, or party to any recruitment, transfer, or employment contract negotiated through or arising from the Platform. We do not verify employment offers, salaries, contract terms, immigration status, or eligibility under sporting governing-body rules. Users are solely responsible for conducting due diligence before entering into any agreement, and for compliance with applicable national federation, league, EHF, IHF, and immigration regulations.

7. Privacy

Your use of the Platform is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what personal data we collect, the legal bases we rely on, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the rights you have over it. Where a data practice requires your consent (such as product analytics or push notifications), we ask for that consent separately — it is not granted by accepting these Terms.

8. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from your account settings or by emailing info@ihandball.com. We may suspend or terminate your access for violations of these Terms, suspected fraud, repeated abuse reports against your account, or for any reason on 30 days' notice. Upon termination, your account becomes inaccessible and your personal data is handled per the retention schedule in the Privacy Policy.

9. Disclaimers

The Platform is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including without limitation the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, or uninterrupted availability. We do not warrant that the Platform will be error-free, secure, or always available.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, iHandball LLC and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including without limitation lost profits, lost opportunities, lost data, or substitute services, arising from or related to your use of the Platform, whether in contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or any other theory. Our total aggregate liability arising out of or related to these Terms or the Platform shall not exceed the greater of (a) one hundred US dollars (USD 100) and (b) the amount you have paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the liability.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless iHandball LLC, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any third-party claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Platform, your content, or your violation of these Terms or any applicable law.

12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms or the Platform shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Franklin County, Ohio, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts. Nothing in this section limits any non-waivable rights you may have under the consumer-protection laws of your country of residence.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notification at least 14 days before they take effect, and your continued use of the Platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
