Why We Built iHandball
The world of handball recruitment has relied on personal networks, agents, and word of mouth for too long. Players with enormous talent go undiscovered because they don't have the right connections. Clubs struggle to find qualified players and coaches outside their region.
iHandball was built to solve this. By giving every handball professional a digital presence and connecting them with opportunities, the platform opens up the handball market to anyone with the talent and drive to compete.

Mark Ortega
Founder & CEO
Mark spent years inside the handball community before starting iHandball — first as a junior player, then on the administrative side, watching coaches and clubs spend more time chasing rumours than evaluating talent. He saw players with real ability go unnoticed simply because they didn't have the right connections, and clubs miss obvious fits because the recruiting tools for handball hadn't kept up with other sports.
iHandball is his answer to that gap. The idea is simple: every player, coach, and club deserves a digital home built around the specifics of handball — positions, license tiers, contract windows, the way the season actually runs — rather than a generic profile template. Mark is building it alongside early users so the product reflects how recruiting really works in the sport.
